This time, the Golden Years take a step back along the Doctor’s time line, as Eddie, Derek and Alan look at the Fourth Doctor’s era, aided by the voice of K9 himself: John Leeson.
Despite being beset by technical difficulties, Eddie and Nic are joined by Big Finish’s own Nick Briggs, voice of the Daleks, Cybermen and countless others, as the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors come under the Golden Years microscope.
The Bells, The Bells… of St Johns. Derek, Eddie and Alan discuss why it’s obvious, but only after the fact. They also talk about what they liked and disliked about the first episode of series erm… wait, the mid season episode… oh hang it welcome to Series Fnarg 2: This time it’s more confusing.
And has a Christmas episode been stolen?…
Its a full house in the podcast over the holidays, as Derek, Eddie, Andy, Alan and Kyle all get together to talk about the Xmas special, The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe. And Andy has a real problem with the title…
Nothing if not current, Alan and Derek sit down and discuss the latest in the Adventure Games, The Gunpowder Plot. Guy Fawkes, Sontarans, Rutans and Rory, the guys discuss the change in format for the Adventure Games before settling in to talk about the shock news that David Yates is in discussions about a big screen Doctor Who movie.
After an unexpected delay (sadly caused by real life intruding in the edit schedule, combined with Alan’s PC going on the blink), the Outpost Skaro Podcast returns to discuss the final series of Sarah Jane Adventures, and have a natter about one of the more popular forum topics of the last few weeks (at least, it was when we recorded the podcast): the 50th anniversary and the possibility of recasting. Good idea, or bad idea? Andy, Derek, Alan and Eddie all share their thoughts.
A bumper cast joined the recording this week, as Alan found himself joined by Derek, Andy and also Eddie to chat about the penultimate episode of series 6. With the return of James Corden as Craig, the Cybermats, and also a killer cliffhanger for the finale, there was plenty to discuss.
Sadly this episode was recorded prior to the announcement of the axing of Confidential (more on that in the next episode), which was a real shame, since the guys did have a few problems with Confidential that week. Oops.
While trying out a new intro for the podcast, Derek is joined by Andy and Kyle to discuss episode 8 of series 6: Night Terrors. With the Outpost Skaro staff previously being lukewarm on episodes from Mark Gatiss, will this one turn things around?
With the second half of series 6 coming up thick and fast, Eddie, Derek and Alan sat down to discuss the trailers and information that has been released for it, and what secrets they contain. And…could that really be the Nimon?
For the past few weeks, fandom have been in a right tizzy, as the fate of Doctor Who’s seventh series was thrown into confusion. How many episodes? Another split series? What’s going on????
Well, in truth, Alan and Derek don’t have a clue. But they’re willing to record their lack of knowledge on the subject, and try and sort through the sequence of events and what it might mean for 2012 and 2013.
